Scope and unresolved details

  • The collected sources do not provide an official game-specific shader fix or a reliable expected compile time for every system.
  • This page reflects launch-period sources checked on 30 October 2026. A later patch can change exact values, menus or quest availability.

Observed first-launch compile times

Compilation is a first-launch step before the title menu. On one i7-9700K / RTX 2060 / NVMe test system, it reached 7% after about three minutes, 16% after six, 33% after 18, and completed within about 55 minutes. A separate high-end i7-14700K test reported about eight minutes, so hardware and shader cache state make the wait vary widely.

  • A long pause on one percentage is not proof that the process is dead; the same measured run stayed on low percentages for several minutes.
  • A crash, an error dialog or no percentage change after an unusually long interval is different from slow progress.
  • After a completed compile, ordinary play should not restart the full first-launch process unless the shader cache or game files no longer match.
